James Barnes is the founder and CEO of BARNES, a full-service real estate brand specializing in residential, commercial, and property management
with an aspiration to enhance lives through real estate and beyond. James' personal mission elaborates on the brand's objective by striving to give others the opportunities for creating treasured memories and experiences all while feeling a "sense of home" in various types of properties. As a Wilmington, NC native, James is dedicated to providing 100% certainty and guidance to real estate enthusiasts as they acquire, sell, invest in, or develop properties that are tailored to their unique lifestyle and to those that may inhabit them.
Prior to becoming licensed in the real estate industry, James graduated from UNC Charlotte, with a BA in Criminal Justice, and initially pursued a career in federal law enforcement. In 2024, Barnes decided to move back to his hometown to serve as a real estate professional. His work experience has afforded him to master attention to detail, communication, problem solving, customer service and organizational skills.
As an Eagle Scout, James is a bona fide leader with years of leadership experience. He excels in collaborative and solo environments with modest confidence, a strong work-ethic and tenacity.
James enjoys spending time with his family, being creative in the kitchen, exercising, traveling, learning, and much more!
